Globe Media Excellence Awards 2016 (GMEA) Now Accepting Submission of Entries

Globe Telecom is pleased to inform you that 2016 marks the 5th milestone year of the Globe Media Excellence Awards (GMEA), thus, a bigger, better and grander GMEA.

It was first launched in 2012 in Cebu and Davao and has been an annual media awards in these areas since. Last year, GMEA expanded its coverage to Iloilo and Bacolod in the Visayas, and General Santos, Cagayan de Oro and Zamboanga in Mindanao.



GMEA seeks to recognize journalists, broadcasters, bloggers and social media advocates in Visayas and Mindanao who have shown excellence in their craft, commitment to their profession, and have created positive impact to the society.

In line with this, Globe Telecom invites you to be part of this significant undertaking!

This year, GMEA is anchored on Globe Telecom’s commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Entries, therefore, must delve on these four areas of concerns: care for the environment, innate care for people, positive societal impact, and digitalization.


There are also additional categories for both traditional and digital media. All in all, the categories for this year are the following:

PRINT
- Reporter of the Year for Print
- Columnist of the Year


- Photojournalist of the Year
- Explanatory/Investigative Story of the Year for Print



BROADCAST
- Reporter of the Year for Radio
- Public Affairs Story of the Year for Radio

- Reporter of the Year for Television
- Explanatory/Investigative Story of the Year for Television


DIGITAL
- Blogger of the Year
- Social Media Advocate of the Year


- Social Media Campaign of the Year
- Reporter of the Year for Online News Portal

Search Period: June 2015 to May 2016
Opening of Submission of Entries: March 15, 2016
