Unilab’s ActiveHealth and Circle Productions join forces to give runners a race to remember

Manila-based ActiveHealth and Cagayan de Oro-based Circle Productions are joining forces and expertise in the upcoming Run United Freedom Run at Limketkai Center in Cagayan de Oro City on June 12, 2016 (Philippine Independence Day).

The two premiere groups promise a new level of race experience. And with their combined extensive background in organizing and sponsoring races, the expected 3,500 participants at Run United Freedom Run can keep their hopes high, indeed. There will be four distance categories that are set to challenge and bring out the best from CDO’s running community: 3km, 5km, 10km, and 21km half marathon.

“We are excited to be back in Cagayan de Oro, and to have found a partner in Circle Productions to put together Run United Freedom Run. We hope to give a unique touch to the yearly race, in keeping with ActiveHealth’s goal in every race we organize, where we put a premium on quality, safety and fun,” said Lester Castillo, Sports and PR Executive of ActiveHealth, which also sponsored Run United CDO, which was held on November 27, 2011.

ActiveHealth is the wellness platform and advocacy of United Laboratories Inc. or Unilab. It provides a comprehensive offering to the active community—from sports nutrition and gear to training programs and events. It aims to empower the active set to become better versions of themselves, through its mantra “exceed yourself”.

ActiveHealth is now on its sixth year of providing quality races such as Run United, Tri United, Aquathlon United, Duathlon United, and Cycling United. The Run United series caters to 12,000 runners per race three times a year. They have also forged partnerships with leading athletes, race experts and coaches—who have become their brand ambassadors as well.  They include running coach Rio dela Cruz (for Run United series); triathlon coaches Dan and Ani De

Leon-Brown (with the Next Step Triathlon Camp Series); triathlete Raul Cuevas (for Bike United and Tri United series); and the Bull Runner Jaymie Pizarro (with The Dream Marathon).

Circle Productions, led by its President Jeffrey Ang and its race organizer Francis Velasquez, is behind the biggest races held in Cagayan de Oro including the Cagayan De Oro Freedom Run, which they started in June 2010.

Among the unique features that ActiveHealth is introducing to the running community in Cagayan de Oro is that it will provide participants of Run United Freedom Run with pacers or leaders they could run with during a race in order to reach a target time and distance.  ActiveHealth has a team of volunteer pacers which consists of celebrity athletes and prominent bloggers. Runners can join them at the gun start, they will be identified with the colorful balloons they carry as markers and bibs on their back that indicate their name, distance, and target time.

“Both ActiveHealth and Circle Productions are committed in developing the active lifestyle among Filipinos, beyond race organizing. Besides aiming to give runners a race to remember, we are also ready to provide them with their pre- and post-race requirements,” said Francis Velasquez, Freedom Run Race Organizer.

ActiveHealth offers a complete lineup of sports nutrition products to take care of the needs of the athletes before, during and after their races: Enervon Activ daily multivitamins for stamina and immunity; ActiveHealth Carbgel for fast burning and long lasting energy during race and training; and Enervon HP drink for optimal muscle recovery to prevent the feeling of “laspag” after the race.

ActiveHealth and Circle Productions urge interested participants in Run United Freedom Run to register early as demand for limited slots increases as the race day nears. Registration   starts on March 27 at the following registration centers: La Cabana Spa, Ale Restaurant, and Limketkai Mall. All participants will receive a premium ActiveHealth branded Race Singlet, ActiveHealth Drifit Race Visor, and Finishers Kit with items from participating sponsors. Half Marathon participants will also receive an ActiveHealth race belt, finisher’s token and a timing chip. Registration fees range from Php 350 to Php 1,000 depending on the distance category. For groups registering with a minimum of three persons, discounts will be given.
