Miss Universe 2015 is Miss Philippines, Pia Wurtzbach a German-Filipino actress and model who was born in Stuttgart, Baden-Württemberg a state in southwest Germany bordering France and Switzerland, but she grew up in Cagayan de Oro City. She competed Binibining Pilipinas for the 3rd time where she won Miss Universe Philippines, thus try and try until you succeed paid her way to grab the Miss Universe 2015 Crown.
First, she was being announced as Miss Universe 1st runner-up, but eventually the Family Feud Host Steve Harvey mistakenly announced Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutiérrez as Miss Universe 2015, Ariadna already wearing the crown when Harvey sincerely admitted his mistake by announcing “I have to apologized! The 1st Runner-up is Colombia. The Miss Universe 2015 is Miss Philippines!" He read the card incorrectly and that Pia Wurtsbach is Miss Universe 2015.
It was indeed and awkward victory but still Pia Wurtzbach from Cagayan de Oro City is Miss Universe 2015! Congratulations!

Miss Universe website posted an apology.
"The excitement of live TV was evident tonight on The Miss Universe stage with over 10 Million live fan votes tabulated. Unfortunately, a live telecast means that human error can come into play. We witnessed that tonight when the wrong winner was initially announced. Our sincerest apologies to Miss Universe Colombia, Miss Universe Philippines, their families and fans. We congratulate Miss Universe Philippines as Miss Universe 2015."
