CEPALCO just released a notice to the public that starting tomorrow April 16, 2015 that they will stop the rotating brownouts within its service area.
Check the Photo below and the transcript of the notice.
These past weeks, people were so mad about having a rotating brownout schedule, hence the water sources where we got our power are not decreasing, in fact there are abundant water flowing at the Maria Cristina Falls in Iligan City where Agus 6 Hydroelectric Power Plant is operating with a 200MW capacity, Pulangi River in Maramag Bukidnon has been flowing its normal state where the Pulangi IV Hydroelectric Power Plant is located with a 255MW capacity. Agus 1 Hydroelectric Power Plant in Marawi City, Lanao del Sur is also operating in its normal state operation with 80MW capacity.
Then CEPALCO has a Photovoltaic Power Plant but it only has a 1.1MW capacity which was commissioned in 2012. The Mindanao Power Plant - STEAG State Power Inc. is also operational with a 232MW capacity. The people has been questioning what really is the reason behind these rotational brownout in CEPALCO's service area when in fact other cities particularly in Mindanao area were not having its rotational brownouts. The Media has also been questioning the reason of the Rotational brownouts.

Anyway, whatever the reasons are, we still have the reason to be smiling with the latest notice from CEPALCO. We are hoping that there will be no rotational brownouts in the future due to some power curtailment issues.
