More commercial flights coming in to the city is a sign of progress, that is why when Tigerair Philippines expanded their domestic flights to Cagayan de Oro, tourism industry in Northern Mindanao also expanded.

So last July 15, 2014 at Laguindingan Airport, I attended the Tigerair Philippines Inaugural for the Manila-Cagayan de Oro flight. The Tigerair Philippines launching was headed by Tigerair Philippines’ Head of Corporate Affairs Atty. Leilani de Leon as she welcomed the guest, visitors, media and the passengers, which she also noted that there will be a Cebu-Cagayan de Oro flight soon.

President of Cagayan de Oro Hotel, Resorts and Restaurant Association (COHARA) Ms. Nelia Lee graced the event and said that the Tigerair Philippines' launching will boost up the tourism and hotel industry in the city and around the Northern Mindanao region. Among the distinguished guest were Department of Tourism Region Ten Officer Ms. Ma.
